The Gentry Apartments Neighborhood

Portland is a city of neighborhoods – each with its own distinctive character. The city’s excellent transportation system, including the MAX light-rail network, buses, Portland Streetcar and freeways, highways, streets and bike paths make travel throughout the region’s many communities and the Central City pleasant and easy.

Located in and adjacent to the Cultural District and Goose Hollow neighborhoods, the Gentry, Winston and Commodore Apartments each provide convenient access to all the best Portland has to offer.

Pioneer Courthouse Square

Just a few blocks east of your apartment, Pioneer Courthouse Square serves as Portland’s town square. Often called “Portland’s Living Room,” the square is the site of concerts, rallies, the annual Christmas tree lighting and more. The square is surrounded by some of Portland’s best shopping, from Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue to countless specialty stores and boutiques. It also has numerous restaurants, cinemas, and the Portland Center for the Performing Arts.

Cultural District

The cultural district is home to the Portland Art Museum, Oregon Historical Society, Portland Center for the Performing Arts, Keller Auditorium and Roseland Theater, as well as many points of interest.

South Park Blocks

Stretching more than a dozen blocks from Burnside Street south to the campus of Portland State University, the South Park Blocks are part of one of Portland’s most beautiful public spaces. Tree-covered and flanked by museums, a theater and shopping, the blocks are also home to various seasonal activities, including the Portland Farmers Market on Saturdays from spring through the fall (and a smaller one on Wednesdays too).

Portland State University

Located right downtown, just a short walk or streetcar ride from your apartment, is Portland State University.

Pearl Districts

“The Pearl” is Portland’s answer to New York’s SoHo district, and home of the greatest concentration of art galleries than anywhere else in the city. The Pearl is also the site of superb dining and unique shopping.

Nob Hill/NW 23rd Avenue

Here, stretching out from NW 21st and 23rd Avenues, you’ll find many of the city’s best restaurants and most unique shops nestled among the tree-lined sidewalks.
