Built in 1927 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Commodore is Portland's only authentic Art Deco style apartment building. Sixty-seven studio and one-bedroom apartments are immaculately maintained with hardwood flooring or wall-to-wall carpet, modern kitchens and bathrooms, large windows, high ceilings and ceiling fans. Our outstanding amenities include a luxurious lobby with free WiFi, large roof top deck, on-site, state of the art laundry facilities with debit/credit card options, a large sauna and bike storage room.

You and your guests enter The Commodore through a dramatic and tastefully furnished Art Deco lobby with decoratively painted, vaulted ceiling and the original tile and millwork of architect Herman Brookman, perfectly restored to its original glory.

Located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood, The Commodore is just a short walk from any of downtown Portland’s vast array of restaurants, parks, museums, theaters, schools and churches, as well as PSU, the Pearl District and NW 23rd Avenue with their trendy restaurants, galleries and shops.

I am very sad to have to leave Portland and the Commodore. This has been the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. Thank you for creating such a warm and welcome atmosphere. – Commodore Resident
